Beef and Pepper Kebab

 

 Persian people just love kebabs. We have different kind of kebabs that little by little I'll introduce it.
This amazing, delicious and beautiful kebab became one of our favorite dishes.
The good thing about this kebab is you get some of your veggie portions of a day inside the kebab and also, you can barbeque the kebabs in sunny beautiful days or fry them on days you are not counting calories or do need fatty food or you can cook them in the oven on rainy days!

Ingredients:

-8 long bell peppers
-300 grams ground beef
-1 onion, grated
-Salt & Pepper
-Turmeric
-1 minced garlic clove
-1 teaspoon basil (dry or fresh)
- 3 slices of toast (just the inside of each toast)
 
-1 to 2 tablespoon of milk just to wet the toasts
-1 cup cream cheese or your favorite cheese
- oil for frying

How to prepare:

  With a sharp knife make a small cut along the side of peppers and take the seeds out and clean inside of each pepper.
In a bowl add ground beef and grated onion. add salt and pepper ,turmeric, minced garlic and basil and mix well.
  Add 2 tablespoons of milk to the toasts and add to beef mixture. mix well until you have sticky dough.
Fill inside of each pepper with cream cheese or your favorite cheese.
Make 8 balls from the beef mixture and form each ball around the peppers flattering to form an oval around the peppers. wet your hands to work easier.
  You can fry them in a pan or barbeque them or put them in the oven. whatever works best for you.
  I fried them in a pan and loved them.
